The recruitment industry is quite simply booming. From the green shoots of economic recovery in the immediate post-recession aftermath to reaching full bloom not long after, the rapid growth that has taken place over the last few years surpasses even the pre-2008 high.

According to a number of reports, the worldwide recruitment industry is worth over €450 billion, having experienced double-digit growth in recent years – a trend that is forecast to continue.

With improving economic conditions comes increased investment and greater employer confidence which, when added together, means more jobs and more demand for those people who find the people needed to fill these jobs – recruiters.

Not only are recruitment firms expanding on a local and national level, many are also moving into overseas markets. In fact, in some countries, demand has risen at a faster rate than even the most optimistic economic forecasters had predicted.

This presents a number of opportunities for recruitment consultants looking to develop or continue their careers overseas, with the likes of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates and Singapore experiencing the highest demand.
